Chapter 20

Magnum got up to go see about his brother. Before long he returned.

“Ayo you done pissed that nigga off. There’s no getting through to him right now! Are you ready to go home?”

“I think that’s the best thing for me to do for now.” I hopped off the couch ready to leave.

“Stay here while I go get your things.” Mag put his hand up stopping me from moving any further.

Damn he had gotten my hopes up and now he was shutting me down. I had an idea on how we could speed the process up a little quicker.

“Boo, just bring me my handbag with my cell and everything in it. I’m good with everything else. I don’t want to stay here any longer than I need to.” Mag walked off shaking his head disappointed in me.

With my hobo in hand we hopped in his Hummer so he could drop me off at home. We pulled up in front of my house and I was more than happy to be home.

“Aye I’ll come by later to check on you. I hope you realize that my brother was just looking out for your best interest. He was only trying to keep you safe. That’s why he brought you to his house in the first place. He just wanted to protect you. But your scary ass be on some other shit. You read too much into things. Shit you’re the only chick I know that will run away from a chance at love. Before you know it you’re going to be old, gray, and alone if you keep acting like that, no bullshit.”

“Let’s get one thing straight, I’ll be happy all by my damn self too.” I kissed Mag on his cheek then got out of his ride.

The first thing I did when I walked through the door was put my cell on the charger. My shit was deader than a doorknob. I knew my family members were worried about me. I hadn’t had a chance to talk to them since the shit that went down with Kal’s ass.

I walked to the kitchen to get me some ice for my eye. I was happy that my shit was back open. Now all I need was for the bruises to go away and I’d be all set. My shit was all types of colors: black, blue, and purple; shit I even saw some green mixed in there. It looked like someone took markers and straight colored on my face.

I planned to hide out in my crib until my shit was back to normal.

I cleaned the house a little then sat back to relax. I went through all of my messages once my cell was fully charged.

The first person I had to call was my mother. Her voice messages let me know she was worried. I know my crazy ass cousin ran and told her that Kalvin beat my ass when they couldn’t get in contact with me. No one knew where Solo had taken me.
